Vanilla UAS Awarded Next Phase Anti-Submarine Warfare (ASW) Program
PAX RIVER, MD – Platform Aerospace is pleased to announce the award of a second phase ASW development contract for the Vanilla Unmanned Aerial System (UAS).
The Vanilla ASW program is sponsored by Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) and conducted under a competitively won Phase II Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) contract.
The ASW program will build upon Phase I’s successful development of an ASW configuration with ongoing flight testing and system refinement.
Vanilla’s world-record endurance and large payload capacity enable an ASW capability that expands the search areas of existing manned assets via Manned-Unmanned Teaming (MUM-T), provides extended on-target persistence, and aligns high-cost manned flight hours to the highest priority missions.
The ASW suite developed under this program joins a list of over 25 mission payloads integrated across Vanilla’s multiple payload bays.
